Derek first experienced the benefits of Acupuncture after a severe sports injury in Australia, cutting his recovery time down 150%. This experience inspired him to attend Midwest College of Oriental Medicine Chicago and earn Instructor level in Tai Chi and Qigong. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, Master of Science in Oriental Medicine, Doctorate of Medical Qigong, and a certification for Medical Qigong Therapist. He was trained in Midwest College’s busy free clinic allowing him to see and treat patients and conditions of all walks of life.
Derek believes good health is a journey shared both by patient and provider and is unique for each individual. He is attentive, adaptive, and gentle in his approach while striving for maximum result in each session.
Derek is nationally certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as a Diplomate of Acupuncture and is a Licensed Acupuncturist with the State Medical Board of Ohio. Derek offers body and cosmetic acupuncture, auricular therapy, cupping, tuina (Chinese massage), guasha, electric stimulation, TCM nutrition, moxibustion and Medical Qigong as treatment modalities. He also teaches Medical Qigong and Tai Chi for self health and cultivation through movement, breath, and meditation.
Diane Kloecker, L.O.M, MSOM, Dipl. OM
After graduating from Miami University Oxford with two Bachelors of Arts, Diane Kloecker, L.O.M. discovered her passion for medicine in 2006 when she was healed by an acupuncture treatment. She immediately enrolled in the masters degree program at Midwest College Chicago and also became an earnest student of Qigong and Tai Chi. Being a full time student apprentice at one of the only free Chinese Medicine clinics provided Ms. Kloecker the opportunity to observe and treat a wide variety of conditions.
Diane graduated Midwest College with a Bachelors of Science in Nutrition and a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine. She is extensively trained in diet consultation, body and cosmetic acupuncture, sports medicine acupuncture, moxibustion, auricular therapy, Guasha, plum blossom needle therapy, Chinese Herbology, Tuina (Chinese body therapy), Cupping, and the application of electric needle stimulation.
Diane strongly believes in using gentle methods to encourage the body’s power to heal itself and the importance of treating symptoms of both the mind and body together. She practices with a vision of the potential of integrative medicine, where Western and Eastern medicine work together to help patients achieve their optimal quality of life. She is nationally certified by the National Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine and is a Licensed Oriental Medicine Practitioner with the State Medical Board of Ohio.
